Free CEUs



Free AAPC and AHIMA CEUs - CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P 


Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are required for certified coders to show they are staying current on coding information.


The number of CEUs (Continuing Education Units) required is based upon the number of certifications an individual has earned


Required AAPC CEUs:

One Certification:  36 CEUS per 2 years

Two Certifications:  48 CEUs per 2 years

Three Certifications:  60 CEUs per 2 years

Four Certifications:  72 CEUs per 2 years

Five or More Certifications:  80 CEUs per 2 years

RHIA / CHDA / CHPS / CDIP / CHP / CHS - 30 CEUs

CCS + CCS-P - 30 CEUs
RHIA + CCS + CCS-P - 50 CEUs
RHIA + CHPS - 40 CEUs
RHIA + CHDA - 40 CEUs
RHIA + CDIP - 40 CEUs
RHIT + CCS + CCS-P - 40 CEUs

    CMS.gov does not list AHIMA as one of the associations that except the credits.

    I have just got my certification for RHIT in August, now I just found out that I need 6 CEU's by Dec. 31, 2015. Can anyone help on where I can found some free. thanks

    I signed up for a billing magazine that provides multiple CEU opportunities per year. You can earn about 20-25 CEU's per year from the webinars and magazine articles that they post. There is a membership fee, but it's totally worth it. http://www.billing-coding.com/
